Dear Readers,
Coronavirus, the measures to contain it, and the consequences for society and the economy continue to impact the whole world. Our protective measures are still in place at KWS. The number of infected colleagues has been very low so far, also thanks to our compliance with those measures. We’d like to take this opportunity to offer our best wishes for a speedy recovery to those who have fallen ill. We pledge our undivided support to their family and friends. Let us continue to work together to make sure coronavirus doesn’t spread further – and please don’t forget to heed the information we’ve published in the intranet on dealing with the pandemic.
Fortunately, we’ve been able to supply dealers and farmers with seed for the spring sowing season as planned, despite the considerable work and effort involved. Now we have to tackle the coming fiscal year with the current circumstances in mind. CEO Hagen Duenbostel explains in an interview how the coronavirus crisis and the low oil prices at present are impacting our business, how KWS is adapting and what opportunities all that harbors for KWS.
Necessity is the mother of invention – and that seems to be particularly true for our colleagues at KWS. When direct contact with people is no longer permitted so that coronavirus can be combated, you have to find new ways to keep in touch with customers and colleagues – especially by digital means. You can find examples of how the coronavirus crisis has inspired creativity worldwide.
We hope you enjoy reading this edition of insideKWS – and stay healthy!
