China
Increased demand for our seeds
Yaobang Sun, General Manager of the Beijing Agriculture Technology Co.,Ltd. and Head of Business Strategy China, reports about their return to normality.
After more than 60 days of staying at home, limited travelling and reduced personal contact, luckily none of our 110 KWS employees in China has been infected by the coronavirus by now. At the very beginning the headquarters in Einbeck organized a shipment of masks and disinfectants to us, which helped us step-by-step resuming the operation from February on, such as seed transportation, processing, pollination etc.
As you might have seen in some short videos in the Intranet made by our Chinese colleagues, they kept working during these hard times. We all know the sowing time will not wait for us; we must send qualified seed to the farmers.
This is also true for our partners. From the very beginning, we cooperated very closely to deliver the seed to all retailers as early as possible.
“Now that we are more and more releasing from the lockdown management, I would like to take the opportunity to appreciate all the colleagues.”
Yaobang Sun
At the same time our sales colleagues identified the different demands from farmers. For big farmers (more than 1000 mu corn; 15 mu = 1 hectare) risk management – especially in the current situation – is more important than high yield with higher risk, so our partners strengthen to introduce our stable hybrids that bring them a stable yield.
Now that we are more and more releasing from the lockdown management, I would like to take the opportunity to appreciate all the colleagues who are staying contact with our customers, working hard on seed preparation, logistics, training and sowing preparation etc. during these times. Now we are looking forward to putting our seeds into the ground by late of this month. |
