Orange Power

Our locations in Eskişehir and Salihli in the west and Antalya in the southwest of Türkiye are hundreds of kilometers from the epicenter of the earthquake that struck during the night of February 6, 2023, but the disaster in 10 of the country’s provinces and in northern Syria also caused great consternation among our team at KWS Türk – and unleashed immense efforts on its part: “We’re deeply impressed by the willingness to help and the solidarity of our colleagues in Türkiye, who have been sending aid from day one,” says Peter Hofmann from KWS’ Executive Board.

€100,000 donation

The team at KWS Türk had set up the “Orange Power” chat group after the earthquake to organize relief measures for the affected areas. Our colleagues identified and drew up lists of necessities such as canned goods, water, heaters, shoes, food, diapers, vests and caps and personally handed over them over to those affected.

The local departments also provided necessary resources and launched a fundraising drive. The Executive Board followed this outstanding example: “To do our bit for the people in the earthquake region, KWS will increase the donation already made by the company KWS Türk to €100,000,” announced Peter Hofmann.

And that is not all: The fundraising spread from Türkiye to all KWS locations worldwide. “The entire KWS team around the world has gotten right behind this campaign and donated,” wrote Neslihan Sahin, Customer Consultant and Customer Journey Assistant at KWS Türk. “We would like to thank the members of the Executive Board who helped us heal the wounds of this earthquake, which affected all of Türkiye from young to old. We would also like to thank our esteemed Country Managers, who tackle all kinds of problems with great empathy and offer solutions, as well as all our employees, who have stuck together as ONE KWS.” |
