Elite storehouse open day
After a two-year construction phase, our new elite storehouse will soon be completed. The move from the old storehouse, which dates from 1948, began even while KWS’ largest building in Einbeck was still being erected. To thank the around 60 employees for their understanding during this sometimes hectic transition, they were invited to a Family Day at the end of October. This also gave them the opportunity to show their relatives their new workplace. Around 150 workers from campaigns at the Einbeck breeding station also attended with their families. There were guided tours, a buffet and a play mobile to keep the children entertained. |
KWS portrait – 2024 edition
How we have filled our KWS values with life over the past few months, what exciting new innovations there have been and what KWS has accomplished strategically – you can read all that and more in the new issue of the KWS portrait.
The high-quality magazine “A Future with Heritage” is available both online and in printed form in German and English. The portrait can be used for various target groups, such as for training and career fairs, new employees, and visits by and events for customers and groups.
Our highlights in this year’s edition: an interview with Executive Board member Peter Hofmann with a review of the 2023/2024 fiscal year and exciting insights into KWS’ strategic development. In the Breeding Story, readers can also find out all about the challenges of oilseed rape breeding, as well as the latest breeding innovations from KWS that help farmers. The edition also shows how artificial intelligence can improve breeding with reference to current projects at the Vegetables Business Unit.

Where do we stand with S/4 Integrated Flow?
The S/4 Integrated Flow project aims to improve our business processes with a standardized ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. These systems combine areas such as planning, propagation, production, sales, finance, controlling and logistics in one central software solution, thereby increasing efficiency and transparency.
11 KWS companies are already using the new system. Its rollout in Eastern Europe is progressing well: Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia are to switch over to it on January 1, 2025. At the same time, project work has begun in Germany, including at KWS SAAT and Lochow. The new ERP system makes day-to-day work easier for colleagues by enabling more efficient processes and faster access to important data.

KWS surfing tip
Our global website kws.com has a modern new design and a new focus. In order to meet the different needs of our user groups, the new global corporate website contains all information about KWS for the general public such as media professionals, policymakers, potential new employees and other interested persons. It is available in English and German. Alongside that, all country websites with the new design elements will be geared toward content for farmers, such as product information, consulting, myKWS and web stores. Denmark and Serbia have already gone live with the new design. |
A new hotline is available to our retirees twice a week.
Direct support
At KWS, we value our retirees and want to stay in touch with them. While they could previously reach us by letter or e-mail, many found this inconvenient. To improve communication, we've introduced a dedicated telephone support line for retirees: +49 (0)30/816 914-200. Since September 1, our pensioners can call the GTC HAPD team every Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to receive personal support with specialist knowledge. If you know any retirees, please let them know about this new service.
