Rapid access by scanning
Whether it’s a circuit diagram, maintenance document or operating manual: You can now call up information about our machines quickly on your smartphone – thanks to the new “TechDocScanner” app that Axel Maßmann, Lead of Technical Documentation, and his team have developed in collaboration with our IT people.
Each machine has a barcode so that all relevant documents can be displayed instantly – eliminating the need for a lengthy search in the database. The latter now contains more than 11,000 documents for internal and external systems, including all safety-related documents for CE compliance. Design drawings and maintenance plans with their respective schedules are also stored in the app. Those who prefer a traditional method will also find the system name next to each barcode and can use it as a filter for searching in the SharePoint database.
The app was developed in close collaboration with colleagues who wanted a faster means of mobile access. The “TechDocScanner” can be downloaded by all employees from the App Store in their company phone’s work-specific section. Axel Maßmann: “We’ve now assembled the building blocks.” |
If you would like to use the concept at your own location, feel free to contact:

And the CAMA Award goes to …
A huge success at the Best of CAMA Awards: As a finalist in three categories – News or Feature Article, Product Brochure, and Podcast – KWS Seeds Canada was honored twice at a gala in Mississauga. We are particularly delighted to have won the award for an article in which three Canadian farmers share their experiences with growing KWS hybrid rye. Our product brochure, which pools all Variety Sheets, Tech Sheets and information in KWS’ uniform look, also captured the runner-up spot. The Best of CAMA Awards are regarded as the “Oscars” of agricultural marketing and recognize excellence in our industry. |
Positive feedback for BlickPunkt
More than 1,000 farmers agree: Our customer magazine BlickPunkt is widely intensively and appreciated as a valuable source of information. Two-thirds of those surveyed enjoy the magazine in print format, and 85 percent read it frequently or always. Its practical content on arable farming and production technology is particularly popular, followed by topics on crop rotation and trial results. At the same time, respondents would like to see more insights into research, development and breeding in the future – for example relating to climate-adapted varieties – as well as business management content and reports from real-world farms. The goal: to enhance the magazine in both its print and online format and tailor it even more closely to the needs of our customers. |
Our goal is to have 170 KWS colleagues line up for the Beer Town Run on May 9. You can register now.
170 runners in our anniversary year?
The Einbeck Beer Town Run will be staged on May 9 – and we’d like to achieve a special goal in our anniversary year: 170 years of KWS, 170 motivated runners. Participants can choose distances ranging from 2.3 to 24.9 kilometers. For every kilometer they run or walk, KWS will donate one euro to the “Sternenlichter Göttingen” children’s hospice. We’re also inviting all participants to a pasta dinner on the evening before. You can enter for the run by April 23, 2026, using our registration form or by sending an e-mail to fitatwork@kws.com. Anyone who would like to get into shape for the event along with colleagues can sign up for training with certified sports instructor Chris Lemke (registration and information about the meeting point are available from Chris at 0175 2898121): Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. for beginners and at 6:30 p.m. for advanced runners. |
