S/4 Integrated Flow

S/4 Integrated Flow GROW

Many grains make a strong field

Our processes are like seed: Each grain is important in its own right, but it’s only together that they create a harmonious field. With S/4, we ensure that many individual solutions gel to form an integrated flow. Less manual work, more automation, full transparency. That’s also how we grow our efficiency.

Vision and mission

Vision

We want to design KWS’ business processes so that they are efficient, digital and competitive. This means: improved controlling of our value drivers, greater automation, better data quality and a stable foundation for future innovations.

Our vision can be likened to the goal of creating a strong, healthy field. To do that, we need the right conditions: fertile soil, clear structures and good care. That’s exactly what our digital future is: an environment where everything can grow optimally.

Mission

We’re taking the first step with the GROW template: We bring together many individual solutions and use them to create common, standardized processes. This allows us to work according to the same principle wherever that makes sense and is feasible. This lays the foundation for the integrated flow.

GROW is like the seed we plant in this soil. It’s the foundation from which many things ripen: uniform processes, stable structures and room for innovation. No field can flourish without this seed – just like our digital future cannot thrive without GROW.

Why is the digital future so important?

Our markets are changing rapidly: Customers expect fast, transparent processes, legal requirements are increasing, and data is the key to smart decisions. Without digital solutions, we can’t work efficiently or remain competitive. S/4 Integrated Flow and GROW give us the basis to master these challenges – and seize opportunities.

Process chain now and moving forward

Integrated Seed Planning (ISP)

What it involves: global planning of seed production and distribution.

Goal: Consistent, demand-driven planning with real-time data – a single source of truth.

Example: When demand rises, we immediately see where additional quantities can be produced.

Field to Plant (FtP)

What it involves: Coordination between propagation partners and KWS from the field to processing.

Goal: automated processes, less manual work, full transparency.

Example: A partner reports the harvest the system automatically updates inventory levels.

Plant to Stock (PtS)

What it involves: Production and storage – how much seed is available and where?

Goal: optimized capacity planning and stock management, integrated and transparent.

Example: We know at all times how much seed is available and where it is located.

Order to Cash (OtC)

What it involves: From order to payment – the complete customer process.

Goal: A seamless, digital process for a better customer experience.

Example: A customer places an order online, tracks delivery and pays conveniently via the portal.

Source to Pay (StP)

What it involves: procurement of materials and services.

Goal: efficient, automated processes with clear compliance rules.

Example: supplier invoices are automatically checked and approved.

Intercompany (IC)

What it involves: handling of internal services and goods movements.

Goal: standardized, transparent and automated processes.

Example: one location delivers to another – billing is performed automatically.
