Understanding change

We can shape the future together – but only if we understand change. Talking Change takes that as its starting point and adds fresh impetus.

Change shapes our day-to-day work at KWS – now more than ever. New requirements, structures and ways of working often emerge alongside our everyday business. This poses challenges for us: professionally, organizationally and sometimes personally, too. It’s not always immediately clear what is changing, why change is necessary – and what that specifically means for our own work.

This is precisely where Talking Change comes in: We now have a new intranet site that pools knowledge, experiences and practical help – in a clear and understandable way that ties in closely with our daily work.

The goal of Talking Change is to make change at KWS understandable, tangible and human. Not with prepackaged answers or abstract concepts, but with honest questions: What is changing right now? Why does this challenge me? And what helps me keep going despite everything?

Change is necessary so that KWS remains successful and viable long term. Yet we know it’s effective only if people can understand, make sense of and help shape it. The objective of Talking Change is to provide guidance, enable dialogue and offer support where change takes on concrete shape.

“We all encounter change in our daily work,” says Melanie Eisinger, Head of Global HR and sponsor of Talking Change. “We experience it in different situations and contexts – and it often entails very diverse challenges. With Talking Change, we want to create a shared space where we can better understand, contextualize and consciously navigate change.”

Two initial insights

The Talking Change site is intended to be a central hub – whether someone is in the midst of a change, is assisting a team or simply wants to explore the topic. It offers stimulus and guidance for typical everyday situations, selected learning opportunities and personal stories from daily work. Practical materials and formats help people come to terms with change.

  • Tip of the month: Short, snappy and practical: Every month, there’s a thought-provoking piece on change. The first contribution explains why change often arouses resistance at first – and what can nevertheless help you remain open-minded about it.
  • Voices of Change: Voices of Change is a video series offering honest, relatable insights into personal experiences with change at KWS. Sarah Sahl from Sales Enablement kicks it off. She believes change isn’t a one-off project but a constant companion – especially in sales, where new structures, processes and ways of working take concrete shape quickly. The lessons she has learned show how important it is to foster a sense of security and openness in such phases: by exchange, dialogue and sharing experiences.
