From the world of KWS
Overview
Our team presented the potential of sorghum.
Sorghum in the limelight
Under the slogan “We Have 1001 Reasons to Invest in Sorghum,” international representatives from the sorghum community gathered in October at the 4th European Sorghum Congress in Budapest to highlight the potential of this crop in Europe. Sorghum is regarded as robust, efficient and sustainable – qualities that are growing in importance in times of climate change. KWS was right in the thick of things: Colleagues from six countries took the opportunity to share knowledge and present innovations. A key topic was INITIO Hydro+, our innovative seed treatment solution that supports sorghum in its critical juvenile development phase under difficult conditions such as cold or drought.
The congress demonstrated that this cereal offers huge potential in Europe. This supports our ambition to establish sorghum as a strategic crop in KWS’ portfolio and secure a strong position for ourselves in this growing market. |If you have any questions, please contact:

Stronger Together
Global Finance & Controlling (GFC) is evolving to work more closely with the business. For this purpose, Expert Hubs have been established, and the new Business Partner structure is currently being staffed. By January 1, 2026, all roles are expected to be fully in place.
Each business area will have a dedicated GFC contact, ensuring clear responsibilities and enabling faster, more effective collaboration. The aim is to reduce internal interfaces and provide clear points of contact for both the business and the Global Business Operations (GBO) team. GFC will take on the role of strategic enablers and trusted advisors. Further updates will follow. |

25 years of art in the BiT
For a quarter of a century, two seemingly opposing worlds have come together in the BiT: art and science. But it’s precisely this combination that has produced a creative space that goes beyond everyday work. The anniversary was celebrated in September with a retrospective featuring works from the past 25 years.
It all began in 1999 with the desire to liven up the bare walls of the newly constructed building. What was intended as a design measure soon evolved into a cultural project: “Art in the BiT.” Curated by art-loving employees and external experts, works by regional and international artists found their way to Einbeck – including paintings, photography, sculptures and installations.
The project also inspired enthusiasm outside the company: School classes, local initiatives and art aficionados have already had the opportunity to visit the diverse exhibitions.
To mark the anniversary, a book has been published documenting the project’s history with texts, pictures and further insights. You can order “25 Jahre Kunst im BiT” (“25 Years of Art in the BiT”) from the Merchandise Shop or or by sending an e-mail to kunst@kws.com.
In the future, the Art Lounge will be the central venue for KWS’ artistic engagement, bringing all exhibitions together in one place. |
The anniversary book documents a quarter of a century of “Art in the BiT.”

50 years of the BKO: Committed and reliable
For 50 years, the Company Disaster Protection Organization (BKO) has been on call day and night with a clear goal: to ensure greater safety at KWS. This impressive milestone is testimony not only to its commitment and reliability, but also to the strong spirit of togetherness across generations. To mark the anniversary, the BKO invited all employees to take a look behind the scenes of its work in June. They were able to test their knowledge of the BKO in a quiz and win great prizes. |
