Employee Central and Time Manager
Central hub for personal matters
Employees can now manage their personal and work-related data themselves on the SuccessFactors platform. HR work benefits from greater transparency and efficiency, and workflows are improved for everyone.
The core team is proud of the digital transformation, which has taken a big step forward with Employee Central.
Anyone who previously wanted to change personal information – a new address, bank details, phone number, marital status or emergency contact – in their own personnel file had to open a ticket. But from now on, you can use the PeopleHub on the intranet (it can be found in the left-hand column on the home page). From there, employees with their own account can access their personal area, including the new Employee Central module, to change their master data.
Employee Central ensures greater transparency and efficiency in human resources: Managers and HR staff now have a comprehensive overview of data and processes. Centralized and well-maintained information is vital for executive employees and the HR department in particular. “With its clearly defined workflows, Employee Central also simplifies collaboration between HR, managers and employees,” says Carolin Stellmach, Associate Communication Management.
Managers have expanded access and can now view and update employment information more easily. They can now enter changes themselves, such as an employee’s move within a department or to a new position. And applicant data is automatically transferred to a previously created position, eliminating duplicate work.
“The new, globally standardized system ensures better data quality, automated processes and faster access to all relevant data for HR staff,” says Carolin. And the HR department “can focus more on advisory and strategic tasks.”
“The system ensures better data quality.”

Time, vacation and absences at a glance
As part of the rollout of Employee Central, another SuccessFactors feature was added in Germany: Time Manager. It replaces the previous time entry system. In addition to being used for clocking in and out, the module lets employees apply for vacation or days off. The request is automatically sent to their supervisor. All relevant time data can be seen in an overview and the request can be approved with a single click. Employee Central thus simplifies and speeds up many workflows.
Employee Central and Time Manager have been tested thoroughly. “After almost two years of dedicated project work, we’re proud to have launched Employee Central in October and taken a major step toward our digital HR transformation,” says project manager Fulvio Amelio. “This journey was not without its challenges. But with team spirit, perseverance and a shared understanding of quality and a positive work experience for our employees, we succeeded. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved.”
The virtual assistant WalkMe is available to anyone who still has questions after the switch. “And we’re doing everything we can to expand the content further,” says Maria Gomez, Automation Lead – HR. There is also a dedicated site for Employee Central on the intranet – with descriptions and instructions.
