Country sites and a new app

Keeping informed across national borders

Whether for Peru, Poland or France – there are more and more country sites on our intranet. We explain here why they, in conjunction with our new KWS intranet app, are a real benefit for all colleagues.

How can I inform employees about new safety regulations in Buzet-sur-Baïse? How do I reach as many colleagues in Belgium as possible regarding important training courses? And who is our new head in the Netherlands?

Country-specific sites are the perfect solution for that and more. They can be created quickly and easily on the intranet and contain all important information about the various locations in a country. In France, with its three companies and seven research stations, it has been difficult to reach all employees effectively. The new KWS France intranet site now pools all information in one place.

“The feedback from the last Employee Engagement Survey clearly showed that we need better communication between the individual locations,” explains Mélanie Planchon, Head of Marketing France. “The goal of our intranet site is to strengthen our sense of togetherness, make information available quickly, as well as share news and successes directly.” The site offers all French colleagues general information and links – and is also subdivided into the three companies, which can be clicked on according to membership of them.

Countries can disseminate local news such as on personnel changes and seed harvests on their own intranet site.

There are already seven country sites on the intranet – and one of them is Benelux. The challenge here was that the individual stations within the organization are located far apart. As a result, employees often do not see each other in person, and communicating information wasn’t easy. “Information from all locations is now available on the Benelux site,” says Jan van Beek, Lead of Marketing and Communications Benelux. “We share details about current developments and projects so that people can see what’s happening in Roosendaal, for example. However, there are also important trainings here, such as on how to use Microsoft Copilot. If you want to keep up-to-date at all times should therefore subscribe to our site.”

And if you’re interested in setting up an individual site for your own country, don’t worry: The intranet is designed in such a way that contributions and sites can be created quickly and easily. If you have any questions about implementing one, Sebastian Frei from the Content and Channel Management team will be pleased to help. |

The intranet for on the road:
How to get the app on your smartphone

Access to all intranet news, even when you’re out and about: all thanks to the new intranet app.

Want to keep up-to-date, even when you’re traveling or in the field and don’t have a computer at hand? Now it’s even easier with our new KWS intranet app.

Much of our breeding work is done outdoors. And our sales colleagues spend a lot of time on the road when they visit customers. So it can be difficult to keep up to speed with all the latest KWS information. Our Intranet has a lot to offer: news from the entire KWS world – from the harvest in the UK or new buildings for KWS in Belgium to the new HR platform. The KWS intranet app allows all colleagues to keep informed across national borders.

Here’s what the new intranet app offers:

  • Access to all internal news and updates in a personalized news feed
  • Access to sites and communities, including their content and information
  • Access to the intranet user database with basic profiles of all colleagues

The KWS Group app has already been installed on all company smartphones and can be found as standard in the smartphone’s work-specific section. If you wish, you can also download the app and use it on your private smartphone. This requires a KWS account with Okta authentication. Anyone who would like to use the app, but does not have a KWS account or Okta should contact Sebastian Frei.

When opening the app for the first time, you must first log in with your KWS account and Okta and choose a four-digit PIN. This must be entered whenever you open the app again.

In some cases, users will be asked to select a certificate. If this happens, please confirm the certificate. If you are offered several options, select the Okta certificate if possible. The app is then ready for use. |
