The exhibition has moved from the BiT Plaza to its new location.
Genome editing exhibition moves
Moving day for the Genome Editing Exhibition: discover it now in its new home at the entrance of the BiT1 in Einbeck. Infographics and a new digital poster explain the science behind and societal benefits of genome editing, and how we use it at KWS. The exhibition aims at showing KWS as a supporter of genome editing, which is an important part of the breeders’ toolbox as a fast and precise breeding method. New Breeding Methods (NBMs) are currently a hot topic, particularly due to ongoing EU discussions about proposed legislation that would no longer classify all genome-edited crops as GMOs. The electronic and printable exhibition materials are available via corporate-communication@kws.com. |

New visitor experience
People, innovations, traditions: All that makes KWS special – and us unique. The new visitor exhibition in Einbeck now offers insights into our almost 170-year history and our strategy for the future. The tour begins in the Forum with portraits of current employees: a look at our diversity as an international company and at the various professions we offer. In the history shelf that follows, you need to take a close look. That’s because each exhibit on the shelf represents a special moment in KWS’ history or reflects our corporate values. Our green sofa then invites visitors to linger and learn more about the generational change at KWS, facts, figures and background information – and where our vision and mission will take us in the coming years. Last but not least, after climbing a flight of stairs, you’ll soon be able to discover a timeline of the last 170 years of KWS in the auditorium. |
Expansion of the seed plant doubles its capacities.
Ukrainian seed for Europe
We have been exporting seed from our Ukrainian production site in Kamianets-Podilskyi to EU markets since the fall of 2021. The aim now was to grow further in this market. Despite some challenges, first and foremost the project’s temporary halt due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we pressed ahead with that goal. At the end of 2023, the project to double the seed plant’s capacity to 700,000 units of corn seed was completed with a total investment of some €35 million. The expansion will provide additional seed for Ukraine and Europe and support local agriculture. |
