Employee Engagement
More openness and communication
We want to grow and shape things together – and the Employee Engagement Survey is the basis for change and innovation. We are currently working on many new ideas, and initial plans are already being implemented.
Eager to share views and ideas: “KWS in Dialogue” strengthens interaction with the Global Leadership Team. The focus is on open and direct communication.
Our first Employee Engagement Survey in June 2024 provided valuable insights into the mood among and needs of our colleagues. The past few months have seen a lively exchange within the teams. “The survey gave us a perception of how passionate and motivated our local teams are. On the basis of that, we can identify areas where we need to improve, such as by ensuring further clarity in communication and building trust,” says Gillian Covey, Station Manager UK.
Over the past few months, the Employee Engagement Teams have discussed strengths and the need for change. The survey has generated almost 600 action plans, which have been formulated in the teams and are currently being implemented.
„KWS in Dialogue“
One key finding of the Employee Engagement Survey was that only 49% of participants agree with the statement “There is open and honest communication at KWS.” “KWS in Dialogue” was launched to improve this result.
This format enables a personal exchange between employees at all levels and the Global Leadership Team – directly at the locations. The first events have already been held and met with keen interest.
“The dialogue was truly inspiring and created a sense of togetherness and cooperation within KWS,” is the positive assessment give to the new format by František Bail from Accounting. “If there are similar events in the future, I’ll take part again.”
„Orange Hour – Your ideas matter“
Innovativeness, continuous further development and improvement are essential for KWS’ long-term success. 70 percent agree with the statement “I am encouraged to come up with better ways of doing things” was an incentive for us to create a special format to boost our innovative strength: the “Orange Hour.”At KWS, orange stands for the sun, the light that imbues our products with life. The “Orange Hour” is a time when everyone can be creative, contribute ideas and help us develop further. In the coming months, managers will invite employees to this new format, taking into account the special seasonal aspects of our business.
Looking ahead
Our Engagement Survey is an integral part of our culture of dialogue. The next round will start in June 2025. “The survey has made management and employees aware of many things,” says Dick Wouda, Station Manager at Nagele in the Netherlands. “I’m very curious to see what else we can achieve with it and how we can use that to make positive changes.”
We invite you to come along on this journey – by participating in the formats we offer and by collaborating in the improvements we develop. |
