Dear readers,
In this issue, we take you to a relatively young KWS location: Antalya. Among new buildings and a rapidly growing team, Remzi Doğan and Ahmet Şahin are working on high-yielding pepper varieties and have currently sown the first trial hybrids under real conditions. By 2027 at the latest, they hope to be able to say: “Would you like to try a KWS pepper?”
By the way, anyone who has always wondered how our varieties get their names will find the answer in this issue: Our colleagues explain the processes a suggested name goes through, where the ideas come from, and how the variety RONALDINIO got its name.
More than 300,000 samples a year are processed by Chemical Analytics in Einbeck. KWS’ oldest research unit has continuously evolved and expanded – and now cutting-edge analysis equipment ensures accurate results that support our research, breeding and all Business Units worldwide.
Felix Büchting, the Spokesperson of our Executive Board, has been on the road in the past few months, visiting 19 locations to present our “Vision & Mission” around the KWS globe. Whether at Patos de Minas, Andijk or Bucharest, he was inspired by the dialogue with colleagues.
As you may have noticed, it’s not just the cover of our insideKWS that has changed: Since July, I have been responsible for editing our employee magazine as a new colleague in the Corporate Communications team. Do you have any interesting suggestions for topics from the world of KWS? Then please feel free to contact me.
We hope you enjoy reading this edition of insideKWS!
